Frames
Carl Zeiss Vision - Kentucky will absorb the cost for inbound frame shipments provided a preprinted Airborne label is used bearing our address and account number. We are not responsible for frames or other items lost en route to us. Defective frames will be returned to you to give you an opportunity to pursue a credit with the frame manufacturer. Previously worn frames may not withstand the stresses necessary to insure a tight fit. Carl Zeiss Vision - Kentucky does not accept responsibility for mounting problems with previously worn frames. Carl Zeiss Vision - Kentucky does not process lenses for non-ophthalmic quality frames.

Frames to Come (FTC)
As a service to our customers we accept frame to come orders. It may be possible to begin processing your Rx before we receive the frame. To ensure optimum thickness, optics and base curve selection, we will not begin processing the prescription if it does not fall under the lab parameters. In order to expedite processing of frame to come orders we offer temple cards and FTC slips; please include account number and patient name. Temple cards and FTC slips are available to you at no charge by contacting our customer service. Due to the possibility of reduced impact resistance and increased chance of breakage and chipping, we do not process glass lenses in drill mount frames.

Rx Recommendation
Measuring seg heights: it is our policy to consider the seg height as “the vertical distance from the top of the segment to the bottom-most part of the lens.”
Enclosed lenses: when you are replacing one lens only (1/2 pair) inspect the other lens carefully for scratches and chips. We can not be responsible for the condition of enclosed lenses.
Balance lenses: are invoiced at 50% of base price list.
Optical center placement/prism thinning (progressives): to avoid vertical imbalance, please specify the optical center and/or prism thinning amount on half pair orders. If this is not specified we will default to our standard parameters.
Tinting or re-edging: there is a great deal of risk involved when tinting or re-edging old lenses. We will do the very best job we can but this must be done at your risk, we cannot be responsible for old lenses.
AR coating/stripping enclosed lenses: due to hard coat and safety issues we do not strip AR or apply AR on old lenses.
